Logging History of Michigan

Thank you to Mike LeValley, Conservancy board member, for a fantastic presentation on 19th and 20th century logging history of Michigan last night at Veterans Memorial Library. On February 28th, LeValley gave a detailed presentation on life in lumber camps, different roles in the logging industry, sought-after tree species, various logging tools and the state of Michigan’s forests today. The event was well-intended and participants engaged in interesting dialogue throughout the course of the evening.
