National Trails Day Walk at Audubon Woods

June 4, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Each year on the first Saturday in June it is National Trails Day.  On this day there are events held throughout the United States to help promote awareness of the wide variety of benefits that trails provide, to encourage people to discover their local trails, to raise awareness of trail issues and to instill excitement for the outdoors. This year, Mike LeValley is leading walks on two of our preserves to recognize this day.

After a leisurely walk of the Sylvan Solace Preserve trails this morning, we will visit the Audubon Woods Preserve in the afternoon. We will enjoy about half a mile of the trail through a mature deciduous forest, and along the high banks of the Chippewa River. This is a good place for bird watchers to hear the sounds of Red-eyed Vireo, Ovenbird and Acadian Flycatcher. This walk is free and open to anyone.
