Invasive Species Work Session
July 14 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us at 5:30 PM every Thursday evening in July at Sylvan Solace Preserve for weekly invasive species work sessions.
The main focus of these sessions will be the removal of autumn olive (an invasive shrub) with a secondary focus on non-native honeysuckles and Japanese barberry.
These three introduced shrubs spread prolifically and crowd out native vegetation. Removal of these plants will hopefully lead to increased diversity of native species. In addition, removal of the densest stands of autumn olive will open up the understory and allow for the future trail construction.
We provide all necessary equipment – all you have to do is bring plenty of water and show up ready to work.
