Invasive Species Removal Work Session
September 30 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us at Sylvan Solace every Thursday in September for a weekly invasive species removal work session. The main focus of these sessions is the removal of autumn olive (an invasive shrub) with a secondary focus on non-native honeysuckles and Japanese barberry.
These three introduced shrubs spread prolifically and crowd out native vegetation. Removal of these plants will hopefully lead to increased diversity of native species. In addition, removal of the densest stands of autumn olive will open up the understory and allow for a planned trail expansion.
We provide all necessary equipment – all you have to do is show up ready to work.
