CWC Guest Speaker Series Highlights Experts in Outdoor Field

The CWC Guest Speaker Series is a new monthly indoor educational program held at Veterans Memorial Library in the Annex Room. The library is located in downtown Mt. Pleasant at 301 S University Ave, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858 — across the street from the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy office at The Hersee House. The program will feature expert guest speakers who will touch on topics ranging from outdoor recreation to environmental conservation and everything in between. The first installment of the CWC Guest Speaker Series was held on Wednesday, March 28th. Mike LeValley, CWC board member and Education Coordinator for Isabella Conservation District, conducted a well-received presentation on spring wildflowers of Michigan. Upcoming programs are featured below:

Tuesday, April 24th @ 7 pm — Dr. Bob Dvorak — Professor of Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Administration at CMU — Polar Bear and Human Interactions in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

Wednesday, May 30th @ 7 pm — Dr. Tracy Galarowicz — Professor of Biology and Chair of Biology Department at CMU — Fish in the Chippewa River

Wednesday, June 27th @ 7 pm — Jordan Bruursema — Professor of Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Administration at CMU — Leave No Trace Ethics and Inclusivity in the Outdoors
