COVID-19 Impact on the CWC

By March 24, 2020 No Comments

Dear CWC Supporters,

Due to the continuing impact of COVID-19, we have reached the difficult decision to postpone our 25th Annual Banquet from Thursday April 30th to a later date yet to be determined.  We care deeply for the health and safety of our supporters and the communities of Central Michigan and feel that this is the best decision to make at this time.

Chippewa Watershed Conservancy staff is currently working from home per Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order (EO 2020-21) which extends through Monday April 13th.  We will begin working on plans for the rescheduled banquet as soon as we are able to return to the normal operations.  If you have already purchased banquet or raffle tickets, staff will contact you to offer the option of refunding the tickets or transferring them to the rescheduled date.  These contacts will be made after we have returned to the office.

Please reach out via email if you have immediate questions or concerns regarding this postponement.  Staff can be reached at mike@cwc-mi.org or alexis@cwc-mi.org.

The continued need for social distancing has also caused us to cancel several other upcoming events including our “Bring the Outdoors In” Speaker Series on March 25, and hikes scheduled for March 29th, April 11th, and April 26th.

All CWC preserves will remain open to the public during this time.  We would like to remind you that the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order does allow for outdoor recreation such as hiking while maintaining proper social distancing.  As always, we encourage you to get outdoors as often as possible!

Stay safe.  We will all get through this together.
