Chippewa Watershed Conservancy’s Business Adopt-a-Preserve Program is a great way for local businesses to give back to their community. CWC is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit conservation organization that manages 39 conservation easements and owns 22 nature preserves in its 5-county Central Michigan service area. Businesses can play an important role in helping us maintain the natural beauty, ecological integrity and safe access to our preserves – most of which are located in Isabella County. Businesses will benefit by creating a culture of teamwork, supporting important environmental work and receiving valuable publicity for their efforts on our social media platforms, website, newsletter and email blasts. Interested parties typically hold group work session 2-3 times per year. Light volunteer work in preserves may include:
- Trail building and maintenance
- Invasive species control and eradication
- Trash and other debris pick-up
- Boundary and educational sign installation
- Leaf raking and blowing
- Updating bulletin board signage
- Other work as needed!
If you are an interested business or know of one who you think would like to engage in this type of volunteer work please contact us!
