Keith moved to central Michigan from suburban Detroit in 1995. He quickly realized a house on the Chippewa River allowing the opportunity to go fishing or kayaking every day was an outstanding option.
Not long after moving in, he became aware of the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy. Having moved from a fast growing urban area that was swallowing all available land for development, the idea of working with an organization to protect open space and wildlife habitat in an area that had yet to see much major development, was very appealing.
After attending a couple of meetings, Keith was recruited to the board where he has served as Treasurer for many years. Keith’s passion is the Chippewa River and its mostly privately owned, undeveloped banks. He floats the river often in his kayak, fishing for smallmouth bass and whatever else might come along.
