Chippewa River Water Trail Update

Look for the new Chippewa River Watershed boundary signs that have been installed in Midland and Isabella counties to advise travelers when they are entering the watershed.
Work on our Chippewa River Water Trail map is complete and it has been distributed to our partner agencies and businesses.
If you are interested in a copy of the map, call or visit one of the following: Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe; Isabella County Parks & Recreation Department; Charter Township of Union; Mt. Pleasant City Parks; City of Mt. Pleasant Parks & Recreation Department; Mt. Pleasant Convention and Visitors Bureau; Chippewa Nature Center; Chippewa River Outfitters; Buckley's Mountainside Canoes.
We have completed production of signage to be installed this spring at every Chippewa River road crossing from Barryton to Midland. These 1-foot square signs will be installed on the upstream side of bridges to help river users keep track of their progress on the river. Additionally, signage will be installed this spring at major put-in and take out points along the river promoting the safe and wise use of the river.
There may be volunteer opportunities to help with sign installation this spring. Call the office at (989) 644-5045 or email info@ChippewaWatershedConservancy.org if you are interested in volunteering.
