Help the CWC While You Shop
Igive.com is an internet “mall” that receives a portion of any sale that originates from its Web site and gives a percentage of all proceeds to the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy. Igive.com has created a program in which retailers donate a percentage of each sale made through Igive.com to a registered charitable organization of your choosing. All you have to do when shopping on-line is go through www.iGive.com/cwc-mi. Once you are set up to shop as a CWC supporter, a portion of the proceeds will automatically be credited to us when you make a purchase from one of more than 700 retailers, including Dell, REI, Timberland, Land’s End, and many others. Select Chippewa Watershed Conservancy as the cause you are supporting. The transaction is transparent; click on the participating site of your choice and you are taken to the retailer’s site just as if you had gone there directly, purchasing products you need and helping the CWC at the same time.
ICDC Thrift Shop
Donating to the ICDC Thrift shop (307 S. Mission in Mt. Pleasant, across from Little Caesar’s Pizza) is a great way to help the CWC raise funds for conservation while you also encourage the reuse of unwanted items. They will donate 50% of consignment sales to the CWC for items donated on our behalf. Include a note stating the donation is for the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy and account number ‘C-62′. Also print ‘C-62′ on the outside of the bag. Items can be dropped off on hangers. (Suit, formal, etc.). A note with ‘Chippewa Watershed Conservancy C-62′ must be attached to the hanger or garment. The Thrift Shop accepts fall/winter clothing until March 15 and Spring/Summer clothing until September 15. Items must be clean, pressed, in good repair and folded neatly in a bag. They also accept footwear, linens, dishes, small appliances and other small items. They do not accept furniture or large appliances due to limited space. Books are accepted but not on consignment. Click here for their website.
