Jon oversees land protection, land stewardship, fundraising, marketing and outreach, policy development and all facets of Chippewa Watershed Conservancy. A Traverse City, Michigan native, he found his way to the Mt. Pleasant area while attending college at Central Michigan University. Jon has groomed cross-country ski trails in the mountains of Colorado, fought wildfires in Oregon and managed conservation lands all over Michigan. He’s previously worked for the US Forest Service, National Park Service, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Isabella County Parks and Recreation. He serves on Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation’s Scholarship Committee and is a Commissioner for Isabella County Parks and Recreation. Jon is currently enrolled in an online master of natural resources stewardship program through Colorado State University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in recreation, parks and leisure services administration with a concentration in outdoor and environmental recreation from Central Michigan University and an associate degree in business administration from Northwestern Michigan College.
