Deer Exclosure Work Session

August 19, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

It’s time to stretch the new fencing around the deer exclosure demonstration project at the Hall’s Lake Natural Area, and we need your help. The posts are all installed, bracing is in place, the fencing is cut to length. We need to stretch and staple the fencing in place. We plan to start on Wednesday, August 19th, at 9 a.m. and get as much done as possible, depending on the level of support available. Thursday, August 20th is a contingency day in case we don’t get finished, or if weather delays the start. Please come out and be a part of this important project to demonstrate the effects of deer browse on the forest understory. This is a chance to help with a long-term research project, and every time you take a friend past the finished exclosure, you will be able to point out that you had a part in this citizen science effort. Use the form below to register, and indicate whether you are available the 19th, 20th, or both days. We will meet at 9 a.m. on August 19th at the parking area at the intersection of Old State Road and Broomfield Road to begin.
