The Chippewa Watershed Conservancy (CWC) is now soliciting businesses for its new voluntary Adopt-a-Preserve program. This is an excellent opportunity for businesses to give back to their local community. CWC is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit conservation organization that manages 34 conservation easements and owns 22 nature preserves in its 5-county service area. Businesses can play an important role in helping us maintain the natural beauty, ecological integrity and safe access to our preserves – most of which are located in Isabella County. Businesses will benefit by creating a culture of teamwork, supporting important environmental work and receiving valuable publicity for their efforts on our social media platforms, website, newsletter and email blasts. Interested parties typically hold group work session 2-3 times per year. Light volunteer work in preserves may include:
- Trail building and maintenance
- Invasive species control and eradication
- Trash and other debris pick-up
- Boundary and educational sign installation
- Leaf raking and blowing
- Updating bulletin board signage
- Other work as needed!
If you are an interested business or know of one who you think would like to engage in this type of volunteer work please contact us!
